Apartment Review for Ashton Pines - Columbus, OH

This place is decent. We have trouble parking close to our apartment...which is why we get fliers saying for guests to park off the courts, not necessarily on the street. Yes, we have heard of a couple of car break in's, which is why they hired a security company. Yes, we can hear our neighbors when they blast their stereo but that's the only time we can hear them and I reason that they can probably hear my kids when they scream so it's a trade off when you live in an apartment community. Yes, we had a mouse problem and the office was quick to respond. No roaches, no bugs and they give tips monthly on how to avoid such monsters. No, I wouldn't leave my kids playing on the playground without me...but what good parent would? There are kids in the neighborhood who are obviously bored and like to "knock and run". The office was non respondant when I called but then again, I talked to Maryann. You need to speak with Tanya or one of the weekend people. They are so much more helpful. The maintenance staff is iffy. We don't know what day they are going to come for the initial visit and they often come back for a follow up visit without notification. But they get the job done. The trash compactor gets full quick but is emptied regularly. They have people who walk around picking up trash daily and if there is a non-gross item of trash in my path....I bend down and pick it up. I am not scared to walk around at night. There is a good mix of people in the community, who keep to themselves. We pay only a portion of what would be our gas bill...there is gas heat and gas range and we pay $30 a month. Water is paid. Nice space in the apartments. Overall, nice place.
