Apartment Review for Big Walnut Apartments - Columbus, OH

My husband and I have lived in a townhouse at Big Walnut for almost a year, and we will not be renewing our lease. Our unit is spacious, but was not very clean at the time of move-in. Finding parking spaces near our unit is usually a problem. The office claims there is a 2 vehicle per unit policy, but one of our neighbors have at least 5 vehicles at any given time. It's sometimes quiet, and sometimes not. Luckily our living room and bedroom are both at the rear of the unit, which faces a tree line, fence, and a really nice house so we don't hear a whole lot. Most of the office staff is rude, except for a woman named Mickey. When we first moved in there were some things that needed fixed or replaced, such as the toilet running nonstop after flushing, missing drip pans on the stove, electrical outlets that don't work, etc. The maintenance man came once to address the issues, said he needed to order some things, and never came back. Needless to say the maintenance crew at Big Walnut is incompetent, as it sounds like they are in most apartment communities. Luckily we have had no car break-ins. I've never truly felt threatened, but I would not live here if I didn't have my dog. During the winter, we had ice and frost on the INSIDE of our sliding glass door. Our unit is dark, and only has 2 windows. Our basement leaks when it rains. Overall, it's definitely not a horrible place to live, but it's not a good fit for us.
