You're over-paying for the location

I've been a resident here for 9 months, but won't be renewing my lease. The reason is the new management company that came in and bought out Easton Commons. Nearly all of the previous employees have quit, and that was one of the best things Easton Commons had going for them. The previous management had started to change things around, they knew people's names, and would actually care to help out when possible. After Village Green bought out Easton Commons things drastically changed for the worse. Rent prices have skyrocketed, which is hard to believe considering how much we pay already. A few of my friends' apartments and cars have been broken into over the past 2 months, which the new management has tried to keep quiet. You'd think with the additional revenue, they would step up security. Supposedly, they've "hired" a security guard for 24/7 surveillance, but I've never seen anyone out there. The office never seems to be open after 5pm, so picking up packages is always difficult. During the week, close parking spaces are tough to come by, but the weekends are ridiculous. People park in the interior parking lots and walk over to Easton, so it can be very difficult to find spots that are close to your stairwell/unit. I can't imagine how bad things will be in the next month. The mail problem hasn't changed, and there are days when nothing is there, and others where mail is shoved into the mailbox. Traffic is always a problem, and people drive around there without any regard to those who may be walking across the street to Easton. After 9 months, there are still two nice things that have lasted. Trader Joe's across the street is open 9 to 9, every day. Also, the gym is open 24/7, and that can be helpful. If you plan on shopping 5-6 days a week at Easton, and don't want to drive there nearly every day, it may be worth your time to live at Easton Commons. |
