Apartment Review for Easton Commons - Columbus, OH

We have lived here for about 4 months. We signed a 1 year lease, and we can't wait to get the H#ll out! Yes, the location is great for shopping. It's right across from Easton Town Center, but value for price in this unit is VERY poor. We live on the 3rd floor. No elevator, steps are outside. Snow and ice makes stairs slippery in the winter. The parking is horrible. Most of the parking is on the street. The construction looks nice but it's JUNK. There is no padding under the carpet. poor insulation causes the heater to run all winter, and the air conditioner to run all summer. Cabinetry is vinyl coated. It's not even real wood! The plumbing is horrible. We need to use a drain cleaner every other week to clear the drains. The garbage dispose-all in the sink smells of rank garbage. The trap in plumbing is the cause. Can't drink the tap water. It tastes nasty. We purchase bottled water. The walls in our apartment are actually crooked. poor workmanship. It looks like we live in a "Fun House" with crooked walls! The appliances are of the lowest quality possible. The lighting liiks as if it was purchased at WalMart. No hanging lights. Just lightbulbs in a simple glass fixture. Some of the electrical outlets do not work. We have to walk up and down 3 flights of stairs, then walk 50 yrds to take the trash to the dumpster. We have to walk 50 yrds to get our mail, up and down 3 flights of stairs. We pay $1,025/mo, PLUS $20/mo pet fee, PLUS $16.00/mo mandatory renter's insurance, PLUS water, electricty, and sewage. We have no balcony, no poarch, and there are no picnic tables, park benches, or chairs in the complex to sit in. This is an URBAN styled apartment complex. It looks like a NYC flat. Nothing but brick and concrete. There is no playground equipment, and No places to sit and talk.
