I would absolutely not recommend this complex. It is too expensive for the location and upkeep of the complex. The rent is high, and they also hit you with huge gas, water, and electric bills. There are only 2 water meters on the complex so they just split the bill among all residents- you have no control over this. My gas bill was based on one meter for 5 condos, so I had virtually no control over that either, and my bill was always really really high. This is not standard for the complex- some of the apartments have their own gas meters. The apartments appear really nice when you look at them b/c they’re always newly painted and carpeted b/w residents. This is nice but on closer inspection the upkeep is actually really poor- the appliances are all near death. When I moved in, the shower wasn’t working, it leaked all over the place, the A/C didn’t work at all (and I got hit with a huuuuge bill b/c it was working so hard and not actually cooling the apartment, not to mention they kept the A/C on high for 2 weeks before I moved in and charged me for it!), and there were tons of other little things that were completely broken around the apartment. Maintenance was prompt but it took them 5 separate visits to stop the shower from leaking all over the bathroom floor and 2 visits to fix the A/C, which culminated in them draining enormous amounts of sludge out of the unit that spilled all over the kitchen. They don’t aim to permanently fix the problem- they aim to do the quickest fix. The leasing office is entirely incompetent. If I had no other problems with this complex, I still wouldn’t live here b/c they have been so infinitely frustrating. They have messed up everything from getting the lease to me in Boston to sign to giving me my keys and garage door opener (that took a month!) to giving me bills from before I actually lived there. They didn’t give me a gas bill for 4 months and then hit me with 3 within the course of a week. They brag about having wireless available but they took 4 months longer than they said they would to set it up, and started charging us for it before it worked well at all. Their strategy is not to predict problems but just deal with them when someone complains- the opposite of proactive. It sucks. There are other better options! I moved out in July- I moved literally 3 blocks from Heritage into a comparatively sized place and my rent is $250 cheaper/mo. My utility bills are much cheaper too, the upkeep is far superior, the appliances aren't all falling apart, and my leasing office has people who I could actually believe graduated from high school (unlike those dunces at heritage). On leaving Heritage they double charged me for an electric bill, then I complained and they haven't yet taken care of it 9 mo later. I'm just going to swallow that money and wash my hands of them b/c it's not worth it. Note: When I visited they showed me a great model that was not representative of the apartment I moved into. The model was much MUCH nicer. They won’t show you an apartment that people are living in.
