Apartment Review for Hickory Creek Apartments - Columbus, OH

I am just entering my 10th month here and have had the police at my door on three separate occasions looking for prior tenents or neighbors who have warrants out for their arrest. Furthermore, the last time they were here, they asked me if they could check to see if the neighbor was hiding in my attic (they used forced entry to access his unit).

Additionally, several months ago a double shooting took place on the end toward Schrock Road.

After paying my rent consistently on time for three months, I recieved an eviction notice on my door due to an accounting error in stead of a friendly phone call.

The office staff is very friendly overall, but apparently they are used to dealing with tenents that do not pay thier rent.

Parking is not usually an issue, but after reporting a vehicle that does not even have license plates three months ago, it still remains in the lot.

Loud music and gunshots are not uncommon in the late evening hours, primarily from the surrounding complexes (which appear to be a step down from Section 8).

The floorplans are great, with wood burning fireplaces and two floor-one bedroom units, but the ceiling shows visible water damage and the wallpapered bathroom smells of cigarette smoke. The windows and doors are not insulated well and result in high utility bills (heat during the winter months was approx $150 a month).
