Apartment Review for Island Club - Columbus, OH

The Connor Group that took over this community last year has arrogant staff managing this place. Trust me this review is not negative because of one incident. If you are looking to rent an apartment in this vicinity, try other places like Governor Square or Sterling Place. Your rent can go up arbitrarily and you have no control over your monthly expenses like water and sewer here. They have outsourced the bill processing to someone called Heartland and the renters have to pay an extra 10$ on top of everything else for that. You pay for Grounds management, you pay for common grounds electricity, and yes the water they need for the pool gets added to your monthly water bill. So your water bill can go up in Summers. They promise lighted tennis courts. The lights, well they don't work. (It's probably a saving grace, otherwise I see that in my Utilities as well). When you confront the management with these issues, they give you a new answer each time. "You are helping your neighbor", "You have to pay for the fitness center" etc., What fitness center? The treadmills in the place are in a dilapidated condition, one of the two exercise bikes is broken beyond repair. The rent is anywhere between 700-850 $. Every time you renew the rent goes up by 50$. Everyone I spoke to in the recent past is planning to move out of this community this time around.
