Apartment Review for Mayfair Apartments - Columbus, OH

Man, Mayfair Apartments has become the new WOODLAND MEADOWS! For those of you not familiar with, the apartments currently being torn down on James road, and across from Dream(formerly the Marqee). First off....there is NEVER a freakin place to park! I live in an end unit and i can never park IN FRONT OF MY APARTMENT, but rather all the way down the street! God forbid its at night, cuz that means i have to walk past the large groups of guys hanging outside. When i moved in in 03, they actually were really nice and enjoyed living there. Nice and quiet. Neighbors respected one another. Now for the past few years, its been under management by Crawford Communities and let me tell you, they could care less about their residents. My worst complaint(in the beginning) was the thin-ness of the walls! You can hear EVERYTHING next door, and if you can hear them...then THEY CAN HEAR YOU!!!! Did i say EVERYTHING???? The previous owners gave you two warnings on the noise and by the third you were being evicted. The new owners could care less. The apartment i live in, the neighbors stay up late at night and party and their kids run the neighborhood till 10-11pm at night. So if you HAVE a job and actually WORK, you can't get any freakin sleep to be able to get up and function in the morning! I make a complaint and they tell me to call CPD. I call CPD...and they tell me to call the rental office!! So nothing gets done. Neighbors smoke weed....the smell comes right over to my side! Maybe thats nothing if YOU SMOKE WEED...but i don't and don't want myself nor my 11 year old smelling it! The icing on the cake....i swear EVERY SUMMER for the past three years, a different group of young guys( i swear AFFILIATED) have lived behind me. Yet EVERY SUMMER....all i hear all night....no matter what day of the week is partying, fighting, and shooting. YES i said shooting!!! Last night police were flying all up through the streets and the helicopter was out for a good minute doing a nice bright spotlight search. I even come home some nights and they guys from behind my apartment are hanging out in FRONT of my apartment smoking weed....hanging out....WOW. Sounds like fun, huh??? Oh and the shower.....don't think your taking one while the neighbors are in their bathroom...won't happen. I was in the shower the other day with a head FULL of soap and the freakin water disapears!! Happens ALL the time! The doors all need new locks. They are sometimes impossible to turn. You find yourself often for minutes upon minutes trying to free yourself from your own room! Its very nerve racking. The cabinets and drawers in the kitchen are very crappy. The hinges are always breaking and there just isn't very much space in the kitchen to begin with. Every winter my heater shuts down. We've woken up in the middle of the night FREAZING!!! Maintenance comes out...fiddles with it...then it comes back on. I swear i have to make a call every week sometimes more than once. Too cheap to just replace the dang on thing! These apartments REALLY need a make-over but the owners are to CHEAP to do so! I really had no problems till i moved over to the side by Fairmoor in 04. I've been wanting to move but have not been able to until now and believe me i am moving ASAP!!! Beware moving in cuz i swear you WILL regret it. The rent IS cheap, but remember...you get what you pay for.
