Apartment Review for Mercer Square - Columbus, OH

OK, Here is my review on Mercer Square Apartments. I have been living in this apartment community since April. Below are views about this community. To say good things about the community. Clubhouse and Gym are excellent. Maintenance request are handled properly. Its a brand new community. By seeing it everyone will say that its a luxurious community. On my first trip to the community I really liked everything. I was very eager to move in so, I filled the application on my visit itself. All the troubles started after I signed the lease and moved in. Problems I faced. 1) I choosed 1st floor apartment, three airconditioners were placed right in fornt of my masterbedroom window. Windows being hugh in these apartments. I get annoyous sound into my house. Which would definitely give troubles to your sleep. everytime compressors start running you will definitely wake up for that sound. I complained that to the apartment office. I was told that, they can t do anything about that. I asked them to put sound blankets where it can reduce the sound. Again I received the same answer that, They can t do anything about it and I just have live with it. 2.I feel like my master bedroom was besides a waterfall. because, whenever 2nd floor or 3rd floor unit people use their toilet flush you feel like water falling into your house.(it gives hugh sounds). 3. I have signed lease to start from April 1st. then on March 25th I received a call from apartment office saying that, the house is ready and I can take the keys before april 1st itself without any charge.So, I look the keys on Mar 27th and moved into apartment in April. then in april I received water for the month of March, When I asked why I should pay water bill for the month of March. I was told that, utilities connection were established on 27th of March either you be in apartment for 1 day or full month. you have to pay the water bill for full month. 4). Looks like tenants has to pay for the common area electricity as well. and for month of May it was for 180kWh of power. (I was never told that, I should share the electricity bill for the common areas.) you will not get separate bill for that, They just simply add that your house electricity bill. 5). My electricity bill got doubled from what I was paying in my previous house. I don t know the reason why. 6). there are very limited parking spaces in the community. parking space cannot accomodate even 1 car /home. ( offcourse, you can see this when you visit the community and they also will tell you that, the parking space is limited). So, this is not really not a complaint on them. 7) Walls are not properly insulated, If your house is not a corner house, then whatever the other unit people talk in their bedroom you can hear it clearly and vice-versa. All the above issues you cannot know until you sign lease and move into apartment. These are the issues that I encountered until now. whenever I find any other issues I will come and update it. My electricity issues are resolved. So, I am updating my views to remove the comments on the electricity issue.
