Apartment Review for Northsteppe Realty - Columbus, OH

We picked this company because my dad was very close friends with one of the owners. Big mistake! Maintenance was absolutely horrible. Parking fees were outrageous, and parking restrictions were never enforced. The apartment itself looked okay when we moved in, but it really wasn't in that great of shape. Lead paint, no drywall in some areas, peeling paint, holes in the walls, mouse infestation, the whole shebang. And worst of all, when our lease ended at the end of December, they broke into our apartment. We moved out at the beginning of the month, but we were going back and taking the remainder of our things over the course of the next few weeks. We went back on December 31 to take our final items and turn in the keys, only to notice that the walls had been painted, many of our things had been stolen by maintenance, and the door had been left unlocked, even though we were still occupants of the property until the end of the month. After filing a police report and arguing with the company, they offered minimal compensation, and no one ever even apologized. If you can avoid it, absolutely avoid North Steppe Realty. They're not worth the hassle.
