Apartment Review for Summerside Apartments - Columbus, OH

--Leaky, mildewed ceiling in living room. Sloppily painted after several requests (left package/garbage in living room, painted finger prints in bathroom where they washed up). Outdoor stuff (from trees?) came in constantly from between the molding and ceiling. --Leaky utility room, leaked all over my w/d, could have easily been on my clothes. "Fixed" more than once. --Leaked in Bathroom as well. --Old and nice in the unit I was shown, old, smelly, and disgusting was the unit I was given, told it was its twin. Requested carpet be cleaned before I moved in, they said they always had it professionally cleaned before a new tenant, was not even vacuumed. --Wound up with mice infesting my kitchen and utility room (probably got in from the water damaged exterior wall that they said was fine), traps set, but never checked, never told where they were. Heard them going off all night, found dead mice by surprise throughout the day. --Ants in the bathroom, they put some sort of powder on my front door to fix this, still don't know if it was poisonous to humans. --Management seemed nice and responsive, but never got anything done properly. This place was not worth the money, there are better apartments (closer to Polaris, don't recall the name) for about ten dollars more a month--same amenities and MUCH newer. WORTH the extra ten dollars. However, if you can handle the rodents, trains nearby, dirty, smelly apartments, the hot water tank never ended, there is w/d hook up, and you do get some out door space. To me, it was not worth the trade off and it was worth the piece of mind to move out of there and some place more sanitary to loose my security deposit (and entire month's rent for 2 days of my last month)
