Apartment Review for Timbertrail Townhomes - Columbus, OH

I have lived in this apartment complex for nearly a decade. When I first moved in, we had a manager who walked around the property at the beginning and end of her shift to check on things. She followed up on maintenance requests and was a really helpful person.

Since then, I've had a new manager every 6 months and each one is worse than the previous one.

The quality of residents is declining. A lot of younger, trashier people are moving in. I complained 6 times about a noisy, disprespectful neighbor and they said they'd talk to her but nothing ever happened. She eventually just moved out. The onsite manager's grown daughter has an apartment on site and she's just as bad-- loud music, loud cars, kids hanging out at her place all the time. Cars race thru the parking lot, playing their loud music. Kids run around unattended.

The units are nice-- lots of storage and kept up for "older" apartments, but they have offered me no upgrades since I moved in-- no new paint, no new carpet, nothing. The sewer likes to back up into end units every now and then and the gutters have more holes than swiss cheese. Snow and ice removal in the winter time is a joke. I didn't even have locks on my windows downstairs until AFTER someone tried to break in-- and then it took them 3 days to put locks on and fix a broken window.

The current manager is a nice guy but he doesn't seem to care about complaints. He just wants to rent apartments. I never see him outside the office unless he's just hanging out talking to the onsite manager or showing a property. I told him about finding needles and a small baggy of some substance near my apartment and he said he'd be "right up" to check it out and he never came.

I've had mail and packages stolen from my front doorstep. A man was murdered in broad daylight in his own apartment and no one saw or heard anything. If your intrusion alarm goes off, no one comes to check on your apartment. I've come home to police cars sitting in the parking lot on more than one occasion. I've seen people urinating in the parking lot. I had a drunk party guest of my neighbor sit on the hood of my car while she had a smoke and told me to F off when I asked her to get off of my car. I've had the air let out of my car. I've had my car broken into. One whole building caught on fire a few years back due to "electrical problems". They will find reasons to come into your apartment and ask you to lock up your cat for the entire day and then not show up, so you end up locking up your pet for 3-4 days in a row before they finally do whatever it was they said they were gonna do.

My lease is up in a few months and I'm leaving. I should have left sooner but everytime I threatened, they'd lower my rent and I would give them the benefit of the doubt that things would get better.

If you are a professional, working person who values quality, peace, quiet and service-- this place isn't for you. Trashy people win out here.
