Apartment Review for University Village - Columbus, OH

University Village likes to charge out the ass on rent. Seriously, Micki Hitt, you are nuts.

The place is clean enough, however all the carpet is old. They recently put in dishwashers, so yay for them providing a slight ammenity. Biggest caveat I have--we had a massive flea infestation our first year there. That's right--fleas biting the hell out us--in our clothes, our bags, you name it. Nice. They had to come bomb the place (we had to disappear for an entire day) in the dead heat of the beginning of the school year. That was fun. AND--thanks to Micki and Co. in the office, they knew fleas were going to be a problem. The previous tenant had a cat, Micki told me (to which I say...hmmm...I though no pets were allowed *scratching my head here*) and the cat apparently had massive fleas. Therefore when they moved out--we had fleas. NICE.

Other than that, parking is a problem. They will be total Nazis and tow you. They will. Don't counterfeit a pass...they will go out there with microscopes and tow you. Promise.

Walls are thin, the scent of other peoples' food will waft through your vents into your living rooms. That's gross as hell. People smoking next door--you'll smell that too.

The maintenance men are grizzled, at best. A bit scary when they barge into your apartment to fix the furnace while you are in the shower. That's always homey. They basically look like slashers and reek.

That's all. UV isn't that bad--show me a GOOD place to live in BG--and I'll be surprised. If you can deal with it for a year or two, look back and thank God you can move on and away from Micki.
