Apartment Review for University Village - Columbus, OH

I lived in a 1 bedroom apartment. I liked the layout of the place but didn't like the apartments for a number of reasons.

First, the area was very noisy. Obviously this place caters to OSU students which means that you can end up with some loud kids, both in their apartments and outside.

Second I don't feel the place is very safe. The front doors are not locked so anyone can get into the hallways where you live. In addition UV is constantly putting flyers on your door. Just the other day I got a flier saying they were having problems in the area with crime. And if you are someone like me who travels a lot it is quite annoying to have it advertised when you are away. Can't they find a better way to distribute information?

Third, they don't accept packages in their offices. This is the first place I've lived at in which this was the case. A few months ago in February I received a package (that I knew was coming) and it was stolen (arrived at 5:30pm and got home at 7:00pm to pick it up). Although I don't have any proof I'm quite convinced it was taken by a neighbor (the package was extremely large and very heavy so it is unlikely anyone else could walk away with it easily). The contents were worth well over $150. Never did get it although I put up signs everywhere and talked to everyone I could. No one likes to live among thieves.

The bus to OSU was nice but was always crowded during the school year, especially at peak times. Also since I work at OSU it would be nice if they offered the bus service year round.

I think this place is interesting to live in if you are a student who likes to have a good time and are looking for temporary housing. It is close to campus and the rooms are not too bad. The maintenance staff is excellent. I had an emergency with my bathroom and they came on a Friday night to fix it.
