Apartment Review
A decent place for college students
Review Date: 1/25/2009 Reviewer: Anonymous
I lived here for one summer. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, with sidewalks, trees, flowers, and lots of grass. It's a short walk to the COTA bus stop (#7 and 18) or the UV shuttle bus. The pool was decent and a great place to people-watch. The major downside for me was the AC. There were window units in 2 of the 3 bedrooms and one in the living room. We lived on the third floor and I had the bedroom with no AC. It got wicked hot in there. Maintenance was prompt. The toilet was broken in the morning but they fixed it by the time I got home in the afternoon. I never bothered to check out the free tanning, exercise room, or computer lab. There is a small shopping center nearby where you can buy groceries and walk home. The grounds were very well-lit and I never felt unsafe walking at night. Parking was also abundant. It was never noisy either. During the day, there was noise of chatter and music coming from the pool, but it was pleasant and stopped when the pool closed (which was before dark). Weekends were pretty quiet. The apartments themselves are decently small, which seems to be typical in the campus area unless you want to pay a ton of money. Kitchen is also small, but usable. And like another reviewer said, the locks on the buildings don't work, so anyone could enter. Overall, it's a decent place for the college student to live. Rent was cheap for the three bedroom ($238). The UV complex is a mix of college students and ethnically diverse families. |
