Apartment Review
they don't allow you to move out!!!!

Run away for the following reasons: 1) You cannot terminate your lease. If you want to move out, you must necessarily find someone to sublease, which is very difficult, since they always have vacant apartments. So unless you sublease for a much lower rent, you will never find someone to sublease. I found out that UV is the only place that does not allow you to terminate your lease, all the other apartment complexes that I contacted allow you to do that with 60 days prior notice. 2) Old appliances. Most apartments do not look like the model they show you. Instead they have old A/C, stove, and refrigerator. My A/C was very old and a bird made a nest in it, so I asked them to replace it. This took more than one month. In fact they first replaced it with another old A/C that was not safe (it made a sparkle the first time I turned it on), then they replaced it with a second one that was super old and smelled very bad. Only the third A/C was decent. My stove broke (it made a big sparkle when I turned it one) and they weren't able to fix it for 10 days 3) very noisy. Walls and ceilings are paper-thin and many residents are super-noisy undergrads. The person that lives below me goes to bed between 3 am and 5 am and he makes a lot of noise (screaming, ...) with his girlfriend before falling asleep. This happens almost everyday. Me and the other neighbors had to call the police several times to make him stop. We complained about this with the management office, but nothing changed. 4) unsafe. Several sex-offenders live in the proximity and every month we receive warnings about them. Moreover, one of my friend had someone who broke in his car and another one had someone who broke in his apartment. You can check the crime rate at the Columbus police website. 5) in the middle of the year they always increase the utilities (about 20$ more per month) and they force you to agree to this increase.
