Apartment Review for Whispering Pines - Columbus, OH

First off, I was like a few of the others who have stated that it's not that bad. Overall, my townhome is spacious, with the exception of storage of food (cabinets, ect.). We love our home, and take pride in it's appearance...However, I no longer feel safe here. Over the last year and 2 months, we've seen the police chopper light overhead 4 times, and strangely enough, every time it was on the same apt. We watched the police kick in the door to that same apartment for a raid. I am not racist, but being white definitely puts you in the minority here. With the exception of 2 neighbors, all others are very inconsiderate (i.e. park behind your car, not in a parking space, making it impossible for you to leave, park in the spot that you just shoveled 4 feet of snow out etc...). We've also had strange people knocking on our doors at all hours (not sales people), and I get cat-called at all the time. Parking usually isn't an issue, but they are quick to tow your car, even if you do have your tree sticker in the back window. Appearance of the apartments when we first moved in was decent (and that's exaggerating) , however over the winter months, MANY of the gutters have fallen off due to the fact that they did not clean them, ever. When it rains, expect to walk under a waterfall if you plan on leaving the house. So now, it looks horrible with gutters hanging off of the buildings. Not to mention they didn't even plow the snow but once, and we had a record amount of snowfall. There was an ice made speed bump at the entrance of the property scrapped the bottom of our cars, but they also wouldn't plow that. Overall, staff is very rude, and will do anything to suck you dry, but will not use any of your money for upkeep of the property. We tired to give this place a chance, and even renewed our lease in hopes that things will get better, but they only get worse. This weekend was the last straw, when my home was broken into, and my wallet full of cash (as i'm a server and hadn't gotten to deposit it) and my laptop. I know we're in a recession but when your own NEIGHBORS are stealing from you, its sad. We've never had problems with bedbugs, but a few of my co-workers who lived here, did. So if you are looking for a dangerous place to live, where they don't plow the snow, homes are graffiti tagged every weekend, and they won't even open up the property pool in the summer.... then this is the place for you! This place is inexpensive, but then again, you get what you pay for....so think twice.
